You Won’t Believe Who Convinced A Mother To Stab Her 3-Year-Old To Death

A 3-year-old Michigan girl was found stabbed inside a garbage bag and her own mother says it was SpongeBob SquarePants who told her to do it.

A Child Protective Services investigator revealed this information at a preliminary investigation hearing during which Justine Johnson, 22, is charged with first-degree child abuse as well as felony murder of the child.

“She told me that she didn’t remember the specifics of what happened at the time of what happened to Sutton, that she was experiencing hallucinations due to heroin withdrawal and not sleeping for approximately two weeks,” explained CPS investigator Ryan Eberline. “She was getting hallucinations from the TV that had instructed her to take her daughter’s life, or they would kill her. It was SpongeBob who was saying these things on the TV. If she didn’t do what she did to her daughter, they would kill her. She said she was afraid for her life and she had lost her mind.”

Police responded to a call at a residence in Iosco County in Michigan’s northern Lower Peninsula after someone reported finding a garbage bag with a human foot poking through. Police later confirmed the bag contained the body of Johnson’s daughter.

Iosco County Prosecutor James Bacarella said it appeared the girl had suffered multiple stab wounds.

One of Johnson’s brothers admits he found the garbage bag with the child’s body inside. Just one day before he recalls asking Johnson where her child was but was told to mind his business.

Several hours after the discovery of her daughter’s body police located Johnson walking down the railroad tracks. She informed police she did not wish to talk about her child’s death.

Johnson’s pre-trial hearing in the case is scheduled for later this month until then she will sit in jail without any bond.
