A Florida man was arrested Wednesday for the brutal murder of his wife in their apartment.
Xichen Yang, 21, is charged with first-degree premeditated murder and destroying evidence in the death of his wife, Nhu Quynh Pham.
Officers responded to the couple’s Altamonte Springs apartment Wednesday where they found Pham in the bathtub with fatal stab wounds on her neck.
Yang’s co-workers tipped off the police after he told them he was upset that his wife had burned his passport and that he had committed an "unspeakable" act.
Yang told investigators that he had put his wife in the tub, "played her favorite music" and "held her hand" for some 10 minutes before she died, the police report said.
Asked why he didn’t stop himself, Yang told police that was not "how he was raised" and that he is the type of person who "goes all the way," according to the report.
Yang made his first court appearance on Thursday. He is being held at the Seminole County jail.
Yang was previously arrested on domestic violence charges in January 2022 incident involving his wife.
