Vice President Kamala Harris and extended family members have become the targets of a stalker, according to authorities.
The mother of Harris’ stepdaughter, Kirsten Emhoff, has been granted a temporary restraining order against Ralph Manning Scott after he stalked her and her 23-year-old daughter, Ella. The judge granted the order to protect both women from Scott after he approached the front door of their home last year and handed Ella an envelope and asked that she give it to Vice President Kamala Harris.
Emhoff said that she’d never seen Scott before the day that he showed up at her door, and didn’t know how he’d gotten her address. She was so frightened by the incident that she sold her home and moved.
Emhoff saw Scott outside of her new residence only days after she moved.
Scott sent numerous letters, packages and cards to Emhoff saying that he had connections to JFK and Tom Hanks, and said that he was feeling lonely.
A judge ordered Scott, 68, to cease all contact and to remain a football field away from Emhoff and her daughter.
