WATCH: Animal Right Activist Gets Brutally Tackled By Linebackers

The animal rights activist who attempted to disrupt the Los Angeles Rams' Monday Night Football game versus the San Francisco 49ers got more than he bargained for after getting tackled to the ground by LA Rams linebackers Bobby Wagner and Takkarist McKinley.

The man, a member of the animal rights organization Direct Action Everywhere, ran across the 49ers Levi's Stadium just before halftime carrying a device that released red and pink smoke in an effort to draw attention to a large factory farm for pigs that is allegedly hiding its abuses inside the building.

According to the organization, Alex Taylor and Allison Fluty were both issued citations after entering the field at two separate times in the second quarter, one of whom is currently in police custody.

ESPN reports one evaded security and rushed toward the Rams’ sideline when McKinley and Wagner took matters into their own hands and laid out the protester near the 40-yard line. The other protester ran out onto the field with a similar device earlier in the game but was apprehended by security.

The group of protestors stormed the field in an effort to draw attention to a case involving two of the group's activists. In 2017, five suspected members of Direct Action Everywhere broke into Circle Four Farms in Milford, Utah, and secretly videotaped themselves removing two piglets they said were being mistreated.

The two remaining defendants, Wayne Hsiung and Paul Darwin Picklesimer, could be sentenced to more than ten years in jail for felony theft and burglary.

“Smithfield will do anything to hide its abuses from the public because they know that if people saw what is happening inside factory farms, they would be horrified,” Taylor has said.

“They are going to great lengths to throw two of my friends in prison for years simply for investigating their farms and rescuing sick and dying piglets,” he added, according to Direct Action Everywhere. “I took action to raise awareness about the ongoing Smithfield trial.”
